Decorating your yard for Halloween? Warning - the 'spider web' material can be a hazard to birds! Just a few days ago, in the East Bay (of San Francisco), a songbird was discovered, caught in such webbing. It was successfully untangled from the fine strands of filament, and freed.

Just yesterday we responded to a call about two cormorants hanging upside down from an old abandoned pier in Moss Landing. We discovered the cause of their demise - something quite surprising. Read the whole story, HERE.

Also this week, we had numerous calls about wild animal 'invasions'. Read about WHY sightings are on the rise and what you can do to protect your property and pets, HERE.

Our Gala Fundraiser, set for December 3rd, is coming together nicely - we have had a tremendous response from artists who will be donating original works of nature/wildlife-themed art. We have also heard back from a few home brewers who will be making special brews for sampling - should be great fun! If you'd like to participate, just email Rebecca.

All proceeds from the event will go towards helping us bring a wildlife medic and animal ambulance service to the Bay Area in 2012. Thank you to those who have already contributed!!!
